Sno seal for cordura

Anyone used Sno Seal for cordura? rain get sin the arm seams, I've tried the spray on water repellent, still gets in, mind you it was pissing down stair rods. I suppose the smart thing to do is tuck the gloves inside the arms of the jacket, must have had a liter of water in the neoprene glove liner.

It might work to keep the water out for a while, but as cordra is non absorbent - it will take a truckload of it, change the appearance and probably not last that long - it will just wear off at creases and whereever it rubs against something else. making the other thing nice and waxy in the process...
So I'd say its probably not worth the hassle...

However, Im guessing that your jacket has a "waterproof" lining on the inside, if you can get at it, check the seams and see if they still have seam tape on them. if thats wearing off (which it does after a while) you can replace it. (A seam glue lasts better I have found..)

If your jacket is leaking that much, perhaps try and find a cheap XL waterproof jacket at a sale somewhere, and just wear that over the top when its raining?

Ta for that, the rain gets all the way through, I usually wear a long sleeve T shirt underneath and the arms were soaked. When will the rain stop??

Sno Seal wax is not the product you need. They make a two types of silicone spray for waterproofing material like Cordura etc., one is just a normal waterproofing silicone that yu have to reapply at regular periods to maintan waterproofing, whilst the other is a semi-permanent treatment.
Both very good products and available through most bike shops or outdoors shops. Nikwax also make a similar product that is equally as good.

Note that proper waterproofing silicone is quite different from the stuff you buy from Repco/Supercheap etc for making plastic & rubber shiny as it has significantly higher silicone content that oddly makes plastics etc., go dull!
