How you guys finding the 950s after the smaller bikes? Good on the road - & gravel?? Do ya find them OK on the tight off road stuff. Be interested to hear the comparison coming straight of the 650.
Good on the road, Great on the gravel.

Not quite the same but so far coming from the PD, which doesn't put out much more than the 650 and weighs a ton more, and bear in mind I haven't even done 1000km's on mine yet:
Fantastic on the road, sublime even. Loose gravel totally shits me however but i think thats a rear end set up issue. I've only had it one lot of decent knarly off road stuff and it felt well balanced and quite manage-able, though I had to use the clutch quite a bit to temper the throttle as you get a lot more oomph per fraction of movement. I was able to navigate and balance up some very narrow ridges, like 3-4 tyre widths wide and 50metres long without issue
Cons, they are skyscraper high and the weight is carried higher so if you get off balance while stationary or going slow you aren't going to hold it up. DAMHIK. This also plays against you if you are trying to gingerly navigate over/through something shitty.

Sounds good guys. I sat on one of the orange & blue ones at Thunderbike last year & wondered how it would go. ( Well actually I was looking for a mirror to check myself out on it really)
I'd only think about getting one when I can go for a ride on Gonzo & not bend something!!
I think they wouldn't be too much different re weight balancing than the KLR as with a full tank gonzo's prone to falling over stopping or turning slowly on uneven ground. I guess it would be much more diferenter for you eddie coming from the low cog beemer to something so high. Have you guys swapped bikes to see if there's any difference between them?
Joe would love to catch up. Where are you gonna be on Fri or Sat? Work is just starting to tick over again so may be able to get away...
This is going to be Joe's next farkle. I can't do it as as it needs to be on Joe's bike. Joe never gets stuck but he's always pushing me out of holes

How come I didn't see any 950 / 990's on the Dusty Butt 2010?
Went for an impromptu ride out to Red Rocks straight after work tonight seeing as Wellington had fine weather for once, stopping just before Devils Gate.
I recently set all the suspension settings back to standard as per the KTM book, I went for the factory soft settings but the back end is still way too hard, it's bouncing off everything and not hooking up any grip. It looks like I'll have to take it to a professional and get the seized rebound seen to as it's making it hard to feel in control on any loose surfaces , I wouldn't be comfortable doing any sort of trip or rougher ride on it yet because I just don't feel I can trust it to provide grip when I need it
