A few options there, though I'd think at 16psi a slick would give you traction (well maybe not)

Found tires were always a compromise, so use aggressive tires (606's and Kenda Trackmasters) on the lighter bikes and roadish ones (MT90's) for the KTM, but have found it hard to get on the beach lately, so may try the TKC80 on the front of KTM as steering in the soft sand is the main issue.

The Kenda Big block made the front end a bit vague at speed and with direction changes so am hoping TKC might be better for that and still get me on the beach without a complete melt down every time.

Speed rating worries me though as on (private roads) can see near 200ks at times

Mean bike, did you mean E07 tire, and is Linton a south island contact ?

PS, been reading this, some rave about these tires http://www.motorcycletyres.net.au/newsreviews.html

I have had a TKC80 on the front of my 990 and quite liked it (have Heidenau's now). I found in the loose that the TKC tracked better.

    By the way I am in Europe with my bike at the moment, a link to our trip report is;

Very Cool Michael, will carefully read your thread and live vicariously through it.

Took KT out with Big brother Tuono today, KT did well for spotting nearly 40hp but I suspect would not have done so with a TKC on the front, which is the issue with ADV bikes that can wear many hats, those hats are often dictated by the black hoops that are touching the ground

    luggage rack

Hi There. Looking for a luggage rack for my 990 ADV. Something similar but a bit larger than the stock one. Anyone got any ideas where I can get one locally, or even get one made?
I'm not fat, i'm pregnant with icecreams baby.

Ryan Cooney did some a few years ago, dunno if he still does them.

I have a Touratech rack on mine, bigger than stock which is good when I have a dry bag across the rear.

KTM was ideal for everywhere we went. We had a couple of "frights" on motorways where I had pulled out to pass a truck etc and hadn't noticed something coming up very fast behind, having the power to be able to gas it to put some speed on quickly was very handy (I had to apologise to Leanne after!).

On a couple of days, eg one day in Spain we were more interested in putting distance under our belt vs taking the back roads so to be able to cruise very easily fully loaded at 120 km/he (speed limit mostly was 130 but that was getting a bit fast for me with Leanne on back) was an advantage.

But then to have a bike that could handle the rough roads in Morocco and Albania was great.

Obviously most big adventure would do it just as well, but heh there is something great being on an orange bike in a sea of GS BMWs

Glad that work out for you, my 950 has not always been that reliable but seems to have come right now so am enjoying the odd ride on the over powered beast (I say that because my general ADV ride is a KLR )

We did have a problem with the water pump (a known problem?) luckily it happened when there was a good KTM dealer nearby (in Rome)
