    I'm with you on that. The Super Glide doesn't mind 6th @ 100 km/hr, but it's hideous on the Rocker @ 100km/hr.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

    For God's sake 'STOP SHOUTING'

I rarely use sixth either. I just go on the rev counter and when cruising keep it at around 5,000rpm and never below 4,000.

    SPEAK UP!

My last bike was doing 9000 in 6th at 100. The one before that only had 5 gears but was at 4700 [I think]

Don't know if the ratios are different but I found I almost never used it on the '09 Dyna but use it much more on the '07 Softail. I find though that anything less than 105kph and I'm back in 5th. Don't want to lug that motor.

It's also possible that the Softail, having 21,000k on it, is a bit looser so happier to sit in 6th. I sold the Dyna with just 2,000k on the clock because I didn't like it.

Anyway, when the time comes I'll still drop a size on the front pulley.

Yeah Bruce - I hears ya.

6 speed gearboxes on cruiser motorcycles with engines larger than a small car I find to be a PITA.

Sure keep an overdirve, but most of them would be just fine with a 3 speed box and OD.

Rocket would make a great 2 speed auto.

What is this 6th gear you speak of? I only have 5 but can't comfortably get into fifth until about 130kph.

IMO they are set up for America (surprise, surprise) where the speed limits are often a lot higher on the 'Freeway' and the straights just go on for miles and miles and miles and ........

To tall for NZ conditions unless you are cruising at 80mph.

I'm with Dave - less gears would be better! I've seen riders redline in 1st, then click, click, click all the way up ie treat them like a 2 speed.
