Steering dampers?

So who uses one and who thinks that they make that much of a difference for the price on them?
Some swear by them and others dont.

Swear by them especially on the KTM 2t's. Rather prone to the head shake. Not only that but they make the bike track better thru ruts etc.

They make the bike more stable thus reducing the amount of energy required for riding. Roc stompa seem to be fairly good value for money. The best tho are the Ohlins but they are double the price at $1,500

i swear buy them as well, currently run an ohlins which is the Ducks Nuts,
but have used WER and GPS ones in teh past as well

I run a wer on my 450 back in 05 , first time as i got it cheap. I found it great on ruff tracks , helps the bike track better and can stop the front getting away on you when it hits a sharp edge . you can relax your grip a bit more to whice is good for people who suffer from arm pump.
More enduro and cross country guys run them then mx.

You gotta be in the right place at the right time and know the right guy.....i'm getting one of the new Ohlins put on my bike as we speak(won't get to test it for a while tho

Are the 2010 KTMs any better with the change in steering geometry?

Swear by them, actually researching them at the moment.. Saving up big time for the new Ohlins Steering Damper 2.1. That shizzle is hot. I had an Ohlins on my 250EXC, was amazing, although it was mounted on the top which I really didnt like. My dad will be installing it on his next bike so I cant sell it to ya ;P Although I can get one for ya
