Actually, road users are not the only ones paying a targetted levy. Employers have been doing this for years. Your industry is assessed on its perceived risk and levied accordingly.

Some employers are allowed to opt out of ACC & pay insurance instead....why can't we have that option?

Bah humbug Was tried in 97-99 and EPIC FAIL
Costs soared, people were written off exempt from medical record of prior injuries (acc dont care if its pre existing)

Wake the fuck up we have paradise, injury cover wise why dismantle it to PAY MORE FOR LESS COVER!

It wasn't an epic fail by any means, I paid less & got more cover from the insurer I used. The only reason it was stopped was because the ACC went crying to the Gibbermint of the day & claimed they would be bankrupt if they didn't get the commercial business back. That is why it was changed back to a MONOPOLY .......
Any business that has a monopoly doesn't need to look for ways to make itself more streamlined or profitable, competition makes them do that.
If ACC was opened up to competition & we had choices of WHO we gave our personal accident business to we would be getting as better deal than a 200% increase & being told to like it or lump it.
If you had a poor history then you would pay more, just like any other insurance!!

If you were victim of a crash, once you 'healed' by the private sectors standards, that part of you was no longer covered!!!
Wake up, I had to go private back then too as I was self employed, and I have even had employee's as well, privatizations first round was epic fuckin fail

Me likes that, can I get the kids in chorus... still seriously thinking of coming in car, will park around the corner up the road and around a bit... if the kids winge about the walk, I will tell them why we are doing it.... Ya see santa is coming!!!!

Another thought, if anyone complains about the bikes, I can see scary/lovely bikers stepping up to the plate... I am happy tho, to say... "I walked here, why can't you, bikers have rights blah blah... "
