Thumbs up AMCC ART Day Pukekohe 6 March

Hot on the tail of a very successful January event I wish to advise of the entry form being available for the March 6th event on the AMCC web site (soon to be the new and improved web site) http://www.amcc.org.nz/

As ever it pays to book in early as place tend to fill very fast. We again plan on having a guest (star) instructor available, suspension and machine set up experts,, video tracking and bike to bike coms as well as a large group of instructors available for all groups.

Any question I or CThompson@paraserv.co.nz will be happy to answer or find the answer for you.

Yes. It was an interclub night last week, sausage sizzle etc. Always something going on up there on a Thursday night.

Hi all, Places are filling fast.

As usual Group 2 is nearly sold out with only a couple of spaces left.
As I said earlier Group 4 is likley to fill quickly this time too because of the race the next day.
Group 1 & 3 still have spaces but again entries are coming in every day and all spaces will be gone before the event.

Dont forget, if its time for new tyres check out Cycle treads massive new store for the deals they are doing on Michelins (you can even get a discount on a days training with us). They now stock the awesome Arai range of helmets plus so much more so its worth going along and taking a look. If its insurance your after check out Star Insurance for the benefits you gain from your training with us.

We plan another full day for you to get the best out of yourselves and your bikes, remember asking questions is the key to meeting specific needs and understanding how the skills your picking up on the circuit can translate to your road riding.

Have fun out there, riding bikes is great, riding with more knowledge, skill and confidence is better again.

    See you on the 6th

    Hi all, a couple of announcements;

When taking part in an ART day you must have as a minimum a two piece zip together suit cordura or leather and a back protector.
The ideal would be a leather one piece with appropriate body armour and a back protector. No visible skin should be showing when all your gear is on. Although unlikely, in the event of an accident we want to ensure any injuries are minimised and that you are protected from avoidable injuries such as gravel rash.

Cycletreads will be supplying back protectors at a discounted price in their store and on the day and Kerrie Petersen of Motorcycle Safety Wear will fit zips to your gear again at a very reasonable cost, contact 309 9522, she is based on K road.
Both of these items will be looked for in the gear check during scrutineering.

If you and a mate are attending and are in different groups you could of course share a back protector (well and gear if it fits for that matter) but the best advice is to have your own.

On the day cycle treads will be launching the new Michelin Power Pure road/track tyre with all the razzmatazz that goes with a major product launch. They will have a selection of tyres available to purchase and the facilities to change your tyres.

March 6th is only 4 weeks away and places are almost gone so don’t miss out!

Looks like I need to fork out for some leather pants, and get Kerrie to do a job for me on the zips then ...

Any advice on how I persuade a 8 1/2 month pregnant woman to let me spend $500+ on bike gear, on top of her "letting" me go to a track day so soon after a due date ????

Get her mum over for the day. Tell her you need to spend $500 on insurance.

Got it. Tell her you need to buy $500 of insurance. Buy her a voucher for a beauty spa for half a day (that she can use in a couple of months) and invite her mum over for the day to help with the baby.

I have a set of 2 piece zip together Hein Geirke leathers that can be had for $100

They have knee, elbow and back armour.
I bought them 12 months ago for $300 (used)
I've worn them four times and the previous owner about the same.

    I'm 5" 10 and 82KG

Anyone interested - send me a PM - welcome to come and try them on.
I have a new set and don't see much point in leaving the old ones just hanging in the cupboard.
