98 octane Gull petrol?

With the 98 Gull fuel that has the ethanol in it most manufactures say you cant use it marely because they cant be assed testing the fuel in their grade of fuel lines and seals and don't want to be liable if somthing gose wrong. I know people that run it in there old 1970's carbed cars, mate runs it in his turbo XR6 and another mate runs it in his 08 R1 all have said its better the BP 98. I still use BP 98 as i drive past it on the way to work and there is always a huge line out side the selft serve Gull stations and i dont like to wait.

45c/gal for Super. Only tight-arses and side-valve owners used the 'Regular'. By god, did your engine pink if you weren't tuned to run on that stuff.
Although you could still buy kero at the pump...

There's something to consider apart from whether the ethanol in Gull's petrol is safe for fuel lines and seals: I've read that it';s not recommended to use ethanol blends in EFI engines because it's not good for the injector mechanisms as the petrol has poorer lunbricating properties.
As for BP Ultimate, apparently the BP 'independents' don't get to sell it - only those stations owned by BP themselves.

Over the last 3 yrs or so I've been using Gull Force 10 in my sons KX85 and my XR8. Have run it in a XR250 and a DRZ250 but the last 2 didn't really need it. I've had no problems.
I like to use Gull regular in my other vehicles too as I support the independants and dislike the bigger chains who price fix (yes they do!) and are so bloody quick to put the prices up... woops I thought this was the rant & rave section.

I run it in the C50T and the bike loves the stuff! So based on what you said here, I tried it in our '99 Nissan Pulsar which we've owned since new. It made a significant difference with a better result than the BP Ultimate which seemed to cause faint "spitting". Usually run it on 95 but I think I'll try the Gull for a while, see how it goes.

HUH! Young whippersnapper! Back in MYYYYYYY day, it were two and six a gallon. And that was after it went UP! We all grizzled like hell at that price rise too..."Two and six a gallon? Bastards! How can we afford to pay THAT much for gas?"

Yup! Even on the farm, Dad only used the '48 Merc when needed. Didn't stop the neighbours building Esmarelda though. Morris 8 motor, two gearboxes giving I think it was 13 fwd gears and 4 reverse, 2-ton truck diff and wooden bench seat of a horse-drawn buggy. Steel front wheels off a tractor and bald rear tyres... No brakes of course...

Wasn't standard only 81 octane then too?

I have run the Gull force 10 in both my road and race aprilia RSV Mille R's and they run very well on it and have had no problems at all from using it!
