A terrible waste of a life, RIP Paul and our thoughts are with Family and Friends.
Wouldn't be racing if it wasn't for:MotoMart, Pirelli, EBC Brakes, Ripecoffee.co.nz, Slotmedia.co.nz, Totalbodyshop.co.nz and Wurth
So terribly sad. Paul has been part of our lives for the last decade. We knew and admired him before we started MotoTT and Paul was the Winner of the Very First MotoTT 'Lunch Time Slow Race'. All of us from MotoTT send our sympathy to his family. We will miss him.
Very sad news and I do hope the controversy will not add to the nearest and dearests pain.
Vicki and I send our sincerest condolences.

asked Mom if I was a gifted child ... she said they certainly wouldn't have paid for me.
My intro to Paul was when Rich and I were selling a kwaka 600. He came here to check it all out and see if it was a good buy for a younger mate who was trying to get going. He traveled with a crew alot. It was sorta a Pied Piper thing. Alot of people dont take me serious with Rich and the pillion riding. Paul was always smiling at me and exclaiming how "keen" I was especially for a chick. But he forgot I was a chick most of the time and I was just a mate who rode with him alot on and off track. We rode to Wanganui together for the races this past boxing day. Had a hotel and alot of laughs. Strange things happen whenever he was around as if he had a mischief vortex. I called him Tinkerbell for his sprightly handling of his motorbike. He defied gravity it seemed. We did alot of riding that was a bit extreme and tho we talked death at times, we didnt dwell. You cant dwell or you cant ride. He was about to go in for long awaited surgery for his back, and we had all met up at the Coroglen. Our little gang. It had been awhile since we could all get there due to work or weather or well..life. But we all made it. We laughed. We had a feed. Paul told funny stories and horrible jokes. You could see he was preapring for the surgery. He had quit smoking even. I watched him walk across the street to talk to his long time girlfriend Sarah on the phone. I thought he looked sorta like he was just coming to grips with alot of things. I saw growth. He had his younger guys just coming up in the biker world as his pupils and he spoke with passion on our responsibilities as the "older" bikers to help the young to be safe but as fast as they dared. We all geared up, and began the return trip. Rich and I thought he was just out of our view but he had turned to go home. John waved to us from the side road and we joined him there. We still thought he was in front of us cause he was ALWAYS in front of us unless he was helping us with something. We got to Whangamata and I found out he had went home. I didnt mind but I thought, I didnt hug him this time. We always hugged good bye because we know first hand, it can be the last time at any time. We got the call shortly after we got home. He was NOT drinking. He was not acting crazy. He was going home to see his mates who had grocery shopped for him. And this...this... this supposed servant of the people and paid to enforce the LAW has decided he is above law and safety and that wanker on tv saying this cop had done this manuver thousands of times and it was ok is going to get a size 7 up his leather faced ass if I ever meet him. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO PLAY GOD. Double yellow lines are always in effect are they not? We are gutted. Crying. Sick with grief.... Paul... Paul... We will get him Paul. One way or another. We will get him.
Very sad.
I didn't know him that well, but on the odd occasion that I could keep up I had some great times on track. Awesome style, plenty of backing it in. Scary to think that a man of his skills can even come across a situation on the road that he can't avoid.
RIP, Paul
...
Condolences to his close friends and family. Tragic waste of a nice guy's life.
