My daughter is "Horsey" Big timeWhen I was having my hassles with ACC she laughed. She told me ACC love her
Injuries;
My horse bit me
My horse kicked me
My horse chucked me on the ground
I was riding a horse and it went mental and crashed through a timber barrier - I fell off...
The list goes on...
We pay for her to be covered via our PAYE
EDIT: So does she![]()
No fault system..
We ride motorcycles too?
Young lass over the road has one of them four legged things. Most times I see her she has a cast on one part of her body or another.
Renew rego every 6 months
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
I blame a lack of milk. I can't remember how many hundreds of times I crapped off, got bitten, stood on, kicked, licked and pushed over by horses, and never broke anything and only made one ACC claim to get an xray after some fat arse stood on my foot, wasn't broken but. Horse riders need to drink more milk.![]()
Slightly off topic.
Same as the time I got a prescription from the Doc.
Went to the chemist and grabbed the thing I found off the shelf. It had a price tag of $23. Took it to the counter and handed over my pescription and asked if i had the right stuff. The lady said "yes that is the right stuff, that'll be $31 please". But it says $23 on the label I quipped. "Yes, but you have a prescription so the price is not the same".
Admittedly this was about ten years ago so not sure whether its the same now.
back on topic, How does acc get their due from cyclists?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Mu brother owned a racing stable. 15 full time staff, He actually closed the business because of the ACC cost - they are horrendous.
Also the rate charged is across all staff - so he is paying HUGE ACC rates even for the 2 office women - even tho' they never go to the stables - WTF.
So yeah - polly with the pony dosnt pay - but all trainers or anyone that works with them in a professional manner are charged like you would not believe.
No no no, you people don't understand, horseys and bicycles are just general recreation so covered by general ACC levies.
When you get on your motorcycle on a sunday afternoon for a ride, you are engaging in a specific risk activity on the road, so you pay again.
Whereas when you get on your horsey or bicycle on a sunday afternoon you are engaging in a general risk activity, so you don't have to pay again. The difference is obvious.
And you don't use your horsey or bicycle on the road......oh hang on yes you do......damn, now I'm confused.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

And we are back to the NO FAULT scheme. Stop pointing fingers at people that should pay more, cos no-one should pay more, including us!!![]()
