    Lost my cool this morning

I rode to work this morning, I ride along Levers Rd, Matua, Tauranga. At the end there's a right hand corner where Levers Rd meets the lower end of Otumoetai Rd, and right on the line through this corner is a man hole so I take a line close to the middle line.

This morning I was half way through the corner when some blonde bimbo in a hatch came up Otumoetai Rd, through a Give Way sign, and joined Levers Rd right on the corner, inside me on my bike - thanks to the man hole I was outside her and she didm't touch me but it was close. I had to pull across the centre line onto the other side of the road.

She had to stop at the round about just up the road so I rode up her left hand side and hammered on her window. She mouthed "What" so I smashed my hand into her wing mirror. If I'd been able to get into her car I think I'd have had a very serious discussion with her. I pulled in front of her through the round about and crawled along holding her up at 30 km/hr for about a couple of hundred metres - if she was in such a hurry to get to work then I was going to make her late. But I realised I was only spoiling my morning and opened the throttle and pulled away. But what an air-brained bitch, she could have taken one of my legs off.

Probably not the best way to solve a situation although I don't blame you.

I'd say follow her to where she was going and when she gets out of the car, calmly explain what she did wrong.

Whether she listens or not is another matter entirely.

Cats land on their feet. Toast lands jamside down.
A cat glued to some jam toast will hover in quantum indecision

Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

Have you ever been on the receiving end of roadrage, your wife / girlfriend perhaps? Slowing down in front of a vehicle is not really smart, if she happened to bump you, it would have hurt you more than her. She could well have done that if she thought her life was in danger, you were on a bike and harassing her, be an interesting explanation to the police or a judge.
Don't blame you for being angry, but perhaps just learn from it rather than, react that way.
Don't judge me based upon your ignorance.

She obviously didn't have a clue she'd done owt wrong.
You took a bad situation and made it worse.

Yeah - thats the kind of thing that escalates it and ends up you you getting charged.

We have all been there - (have done similar things myself in the past) but at the end of the day - you have to hold anger in check. Its simply not worth it - if its not deliberate (and contrary to KB belief - most people in cars dont actually want to harm someone just because they are on a bike) then toot, give them a finger, shake a fist and let them know you are there.

Most normal people when they see that they almost caused an accident are 'freeked' enough with their actions. Acting like a twat dosnt make it any better. (again - disclaimer - have acted like a twat myself - so I do know where you are coming from - I just grew out of it.

Would you have acted the way you did if it had been a 6 foot gang member with facial tattoos driving the car?

No, you wouldn't have. You'd have quietly pissed your pants while hoping that he didn't notice that he'd almost hit you.

But instead you figured it was safe to intimidate a woman.

Do you smack your wife around as well?
