ACC & NZTA FUCKERS: Charging the new rates before it is legal to do so.

That's right folks; in order to stymie those that were trying to use the MR27 form to get maximum time at the old rate when licensing their bike, the NZTA have started charging all extended expiry date time at the new ACC rates.
This is before the rates can be legally applied.

Since when? There are some? that have renewed at the old rate for better than 12 months.

My brother tried to use the MR27 today and queried the cost with NZTA.They admitted what they are doing.

So some can, and some cant? I hate grey in these situations. Surely there can not be any, it is black or white. Either the new rate applies or it does not?

No, they realised we were using the MR27 route and as of recently they have tried to close it - illegally.
They know they won't get taken to court over this.

I did try to warm people that there was a gotcha in June. Its been that way for ages

I think its just their crap systems . Basically , they send out renewal notices a momth in advance . So any notices they send out in June will be for renewals ( in July) at the new rate.

So they set the computer up with the new rates at the beginnimg of June. And dont have a mechanism to cope with extensions

The regulation came into law on 31st May, with the new rates stated to be applicable for "invoices from 30th June"

Mine runs out on 22 June, so do I pay the new or old rates? If their invoice is dated 22 June, it must be the old rate, rigth?

I *think* (but I am termimally confused) that if you have an invoice for a renewal 22nd June, which would have beeen issued in May, then you pay what is on the invoice. The old rates.

But invoices they are raising in June are (normally) for July renewals, at the new rate . When you go in with a MR27, you dont have an imvoice. So their system creates one . At the new rates. Itis posssible that it is possible to override this (it should be) but only expert operators knpw how ( most dont even know what a mr27 is)

    So, mine's due... today.

And when I update it on-line I'm going to get pinged at the new improved rate?

I THINK ( but do NOT) take this as authorative) that if you have the form they send out ( which is technically an invoice) and the prices on it are the old prices, and you enter the code off the invoice, they will honour the invoice ( old ) prices. But any invoice RAISED in June will be the new prices.

Mrs Shrek did mine at the old rate using MR27 for 15months a week ago they can't charge you the new rates if your bike is due this month, new rate comes into effect 1st july so old rates apply
