New rego's for classic bikes 40 years and over -

I posted a question in the "ACC Levy" forum but thought here might be more relevant.
I rang them - this is what I got:-

    For one year:

    0-60cc $ 103.80
    61-600cc $ 109.49
    over 601cc $ 115.11

    Hope this is useful.

great that 40 year old motorbikes and the technology they had are so much safer ACC levy wise.

Are you trying to tell me that a 2LS brake isn't as effective as Monoblock brakes?

I would say my 40 year old 750 BMW with TLS and 50 HP is as safe as one of them there ones with 160 HP, traction control, ABS and a gear shift that you don't have to throttle off to change.
Its the paying ACC on multiple vehicles that I see as wrong. Taxes, taxes and more taxes....

Bless the VCC. They have done more for classic and vintage bikes than the bikhoey and BRASS ever did.

Suba- The term classic is used to describe a vehicle that is 40 years old for rego purposes. The VCC argued that vehicles this old are not being used as daily transport and as such should not have ACC applied to them. They are currently considering a special class of classic vehicles that use 40 year old technology for Guzzi owners. Also continuous rego does not apply to classics.

So to get our 1966 bike back on the road, it may not be such a drama (last rego in 99/2000 I think from memory).
Curious about this, as it seems a shame to have her in the shed all the time.

My Triumph has had its rego on hold for 10 years....ACC is right about them being low risk.....biggest danger is tripping over it....

The rego lapses after 2 years and it has to be re done, but its not a problem if the bike has been redg here and you have papers.
