Well, it's been an interminable age since I last graced these blood and defecate stained hallways of KB!
Firstly, my absence from these forums was due to my non-status as a biker - the last eight months has seen my milage drop to a staggeringly low 10km per day!
This has been due to my dear maternal unit falling unwell due to heart attack and in order to alleviate the stress and support my dear paternal unit, I did do battle with the hordes that besiege our family fush n'chup shop!
Between skool and the hours worked in the shop, something had to give - namely my personal freedom and life! Staying close to home, and being wiser in my dotage and advanced chronological status, I chose not to burn my candle at both ends and let my motorbiking persona fall away gracefully to the asphalt with a thud.
Gremlin has taken great joy and delight in my plight, his schadenfreude ingloriously bright!
So, I did keep up to date with the KB threads, but since I had little to say or contribute, I meekly kept my fingers free from expressing my voluble dialogue about nothing in particular! (As those who are able to read through the novel expositions of my posts can attest to!)
However, due to this punishing schedule of working like an atypical good chinese son, I found myself in dire straits when I suffered an acute attack of high blood pressure. 180/130 even! I duly complied with medical advice and have taken two weeks of sick leave from my educational locality.
So last week, on doctor's orders and other high learned and well intentioned others, I rode my bike, I slept in, I did not set foot in the fush n'chup shop to work, I spannered on bikes, I poked around bike shops, I rode some more ...
And bliss! Last week I rode SH22 on Monday. Nirvana. Last Friday I did the Coro loop with TOTO. Epic grinfest.
And tonight? My fine fellows and resplendent female adherents to our two wheeled way of life, I dined most delicately on vittles with a charming companion to while away the nights. I did receive texts congratulating me on surviving another mortal year on this spinning conglomeration of matter as it wends its way through the universe.
Once again, I thank one and all for your most heart warming cheer and sentiments - I confess to feeling akin to Milton on a most sentimental journey of endearment with our fine iron steeds of precipitous and most alarming velocity implements!
I durst dare entertain the thought that I may yet be able to ride some more, some where!![]()
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"![]()
