Throttle hand grip slipping

After spending a night out in the rain somehow my accelerator hand grip is now lose as a goose, now it can spin around without giving any throttle.

do i just whip the bar end of and lather up bar with some glue? or is there a slightly more technical solution to the prob?

Just take the rubber grip off ... water between the rubber and the throttle bar will make it slip. The rubber grip must have a hole in it and will probably need replacing. Usually they are not glued on the bars ... just the stretch of the rubber holding them firmly in place.

They are not that expensive to buy.

hmm thats weird i ride in the rain all the time and this has never happend. but will go buy some new grips and all should be sorted. Cheers for the info bro!!

ive heard of hair spray being used its goes real stick when dry

Or lock wire the sucker on. Done on dirtbikes but usually only on the non throttle side. The throttle bodies usually have ridges on them to stop this happening.

Araldite. Used on hot grips etc. Just don't get it on any 'turny' bits. I lockwire everything, but you really need a pliers spinner & thin stainless wire + some technique to avoid stabbing yourself with the end bit.
