Cool Wellington Wednesday Night Cruisy Summer Rides (TCWNR) 2010-2011

For the summer daylight saving period (from 26 September), first ride on the 29th September.

Rendezvous point: The Duck Pond in Avalon Park, off Fairway Drive, Lower Hutt (map attached)

Arrive with a full tank of gas.

    Assemble from 6:00pm

    Depart at 6:30pm

These are informal easy-paced rides, ideal for learners and people new to Wellington to meet up and go riding. For faster rides, see the The Real Thursday Night Ride.

The default ride is often over the Rimutakas or Paekakariki Hill. The destination is ultimately left to a group consensus prior to departure. Destinations are commonly The Royal Pub in Featherson, The Tin Hut in Tauherenikau, The White Swan in Greytown, Gordy's Bar in Paraparaumu, and the Montieths bar in Mana, however a final decision about destination is generally left to a group consensus prior to departure. Weather and road conditions on the Hill, combined with a Group Vibe, mean other destinations and routes are sometimes chosen.

Are we supposed to take turns with the "Group Vibe" thingy?

I only ask because I've been showing up for ages and so far not so much as a sniff

I'm looking forward to it. I won't make the first one but I'll certainly be up for the next.

Ignorant of how to subscribe to this thread I revert to posting a pointless comment so I can get updates on this great idea.

Yep - can't make it next week, but will be there each week after for a nice ride with great folk, as per last summer.

Will be good to see some old faces again, and of course some new ones.

That's an intriguing concept Eugene......considering my memories of the last Cruisy Wednesday ride I attended?!

I hope they pan out this way.

Thought for the day: Some people are like Slinkies - not really good for anything but they're funny when they're pushed down the stairs. Also: Who picks up guide dog shit?

Hopefully we can get the more spirited riders to go ahead of the group.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
