I dunno what it's like elsewhere but I don't think I could actually hold the bike upright at my place.

Unless the wind drops considerably in the next hour I may not make it.

    Yeah mine got me home...just!

Lost the front brakes in waiouru...
lost the speedo south of Foxton...
Flat tyre just north of Waikanae...

Flat tyre turned out to be significant electrolysis from steel spoke nipples in the rim and a winter of the bike sitting at Wellington Airport each weekend... dug out the rot and filed back the flakes...not pretty, but yeah made it.

Helmet cam footage looks good, so will aim to have that up by end of the week.
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.

WHAT an awesome ride. Thanks Buggs!!

I made it Sat night after 710K on the clock, having started at 6:15 am and finished 11:45 pm. I believe I may have failed to observe the speed limit in some areas (between Waiouru & Upper Hutt). Luckily the wobble on the road due to aggressive knobblies got better at night time! I'm very happy I'd spent a few bucks on the high powered bulb!

Bike seems fine, although lost at least one bolt, heaps of crap but already cleaned. now need to sort the water pump and 40000 service.

    Thanks again mate.

Have some pics and some footage, will post later

    EPIC!

Just got home after 695.5 km's from Waiouru to Wellington via Taupo, Napier and Taihape.

Haven't looked at any video or pics yet.

How many people does it take to extract an Africa Twin from a 3 foot wide stream?
