I have one battery here that fits my bike, it's 12A, but I'm not exactly sure what to do with it at the moment as I can't ride and the battery in my bike is still good.

Shorai were hoping to be able to supply end Feb. early March, so if anyone would like one, let me know and I'll see what I can do re: freight costs to keep the price within reason compared to the US price.

Shorai have established a European centre now so they are expanding rapidly. The feedback from various forums has been very enthusiastic about them and avariety of uses have been suggested including jet-ski's and boats, or any smaller engines. As a battery for fishing lights being so light to carry, or anywhere you need a portable 12v.

All anyone needs to do is let me know make and model of bike and I'll check the model battery and price.

We haven't been riding.....but I'll fire it up later. It has just been sitting since fitting it, and I only cranked it over for a bit when I first fitted it in, didn't actually start it.

Ok....stabbed the starter button and it wound over as enthusiastically as when I first tried it and lept into life. Tuned it straight off and repeated, exactly the same result. The Mrs wandered out a bit later, saw the keys in it and fired it up again, again not the slightest sign of it slowing down in the windover department at all. So far it's been wound over 4 times for a few seconds, and only started briefly, and is still sweet as.

That's not the real beauty though... my SLAs will do that too. But if you leave it for a year, it'll probably still do it! Apparently the LiFePO4 batteries lose only 1% of their charge over a year... where as my SLAs... yeah, well, you all know how that goes.

I'm planning on having a wee chat to a friend who has a shop in town here, to see if I can set up a day for display and let everyone know so they can call in and check them out. Perhaps Death_Inc could bring the R6 in as well?

Just a thought at the mo.

Mebbe I could supply some scones or finger-food. I make the best coffee's around...

I thought since the business I'm going to ask is new in town and a worthy cause to promote and the owner is well respected on here we could make it a combined promo for both businesses. Unfortunately I'm not going to make Paeroa as I'm having a wee issue with my back at the moment which precludes travel for a bit!

    Shorai Batteries are Go!

It's taken a wee while but Shorai have now pretty much caught up and are promising same day despatch from the 27th May. They have done a shipping deal that reduces my cost markedly and with the exchange rate as high as it is currently they are very good value!

I should be able to land them here for sale at under $250.00 for the foreseeable future depending on model so if anyone would like to buy one, the deal will be payment with order and I should have delivery within a week.

Go online to Shorai at http://www.shoraipower.com/c-1-batteries.aspx choose your model and email (or PM) me. ed@yhp.co.nz

That's a really helpful site, I like the way they have recommendations for standard, duration, and race batteries. And the price seems in line with the other companies out there. PM on the way!

Got mine today fires up all good, 3.1kg out, 0.7kg in, and so much less volume I can re-arrange and rewire bits in the subframe.
