did you come across any snow? i went thru today the opposite way you guys went and there was snow accross the road before the river.

was a bit worried about crossing the river as a guy on a mtb indicated it was up to the bottom of his seatpost. was a bit high but got across ok - dont think it was as high as my front wheel

No snow when we were there and the river was about 1.5 cubic meters/second but on Wednesday 29th it rose to over 8 cubic meters/second and yesterday was still around 4.2 to 4.5.
Were u on the/a bike or the monster 4x4?

was on the trusty old xr. wasnt planning on going that far but it was a nice sunny day - wasnt expecting to see snow. a 4wd had been thu before me so i had tracks to ride in so it wasnt too bad and was only on one side of one of the hills before the river

might go again this saturday if anyone is keen. i will wear warmer clothes and decent gloves this time

Can you take a pic of the setup on your helmet? Pretty please. I have been looking at getting one.

Haven't put it on my helmets yet as it's a bit of a sticky outy thing.
That video was done using the chest harness which is an extra.
From what I've seen Video is often generally smoother using the chest harness though it gets in the way a bit if you want to open your jacket.
Shop around, the prices vary quite a bit in NZ shops. Got lucky and got mine second hand in good condition though I have had to spend a little getting bits to complete the kit and now I want a few of the other extra accessory attachments.
I got sold on them from seeing what Peeteey was acheving with it.

That actually looks like a better set up, the only thing is that it won't look where you are looking.

Who's the crazy bugger driving the Stage 1 Landy (109 V8)? I had one of them for a couple of years back when fuel cost $1/l. 120l of fuel tank capacity. Would burn 80l getting between Chch and NN! Hate to run one now days with current fuel costs!

    Cheers R

If you refer to the trail ride in Oxford yesterday there's a thread in the Off Rd forum on that one.
