I was out having breakfast at oxford on the blackbird and ordered some parts from the Yamaha dealer in Rangiora and might be talked into trading the blackbird in for a TDM 900......if he offers me good exchange....

im heading up the molesworth on the 24th march, getting the ferry on the 25th back on the 27th via the rainbow
was going to try and do the king country adv ride a few weeks later but i think this one is going to blow my budget
No money. If it was local maybe, but not with travel and ferry time and costs this time.
Please do let us know how it compares to Capital Coast one and the Dusty Butts though once you've been.

If anyone is free on Wednesday March 2nd then me and few mates are going for a spin up to Springfield to checkout a loop that goes through some forestry blocks.
(More about the loop here)
Meet at stop bank on McLeans Island Road around 12 noon. Blast up the south side of the Waimak to the gorge then to Springfield for a Burger and Pint at the pub.
Then a 25km loop through the above (opportunity to test river crossing techniques)
(I've just engaged lawyers to help me in my quest to get these gates open see above thread)
I know it's a school day but it would be good to get a few along as this loop is a public road (not to mention awesome countryside see photo in above thread) but the forestry company have locked gates on it and are refusing to play ball.
So I'd like to generate some awareness of this route among the Chch bikers who I hope will use it from time to time as it makes a nice wee side detour for those who want to add a few extra k's to the usual Waimak rides.
I'm committed to getting these gates removed and a little support would be great.
Cheers
I ll check to see if I have enough holiday left....
