We went through on Saturday, a little before you guys. Very slippery! River was up a bit too. Discretion won over valour there and most of us pushed our bikes through.

We went in from Harrs Rd and did the North side of the Waimak, for me it looks so strange now with all those trees cut down. Ended up doing Kiri Kiri Rd and Eyre Ford even though the signs said it was closed, which is more fun than riding down Depot Rd into Oxford.

When we got to the river we had a secret weapon "Matt" on his WR and he did a number of crossings, so we got an idea of how deep it was and made our crossings safely.

I couldn't make it Saturday but went through on Sunday, I followed the leader, was last to cross the big one, we did it upstream a wee way from the usual place at the ford and I filled my boots and gloves but not my airbox thankfully. There was a huge amount of slime where we did it. We had lunch on the other side where I changed into dry stuff to continue.

It was the water in my gloves that I disliked the most.

anyone keen for lake sumner on saturday - we are leaving at 11am from the peg.

havent been there before but are not doing the 2 tracks that we need access for - just the public road track down the middle

was just going up the highway but if anyone has another way to get there via gravel then we will follow....

Just remember you'll need to take lunch with you. Go in via rangivegas and do the gravel roads then the boring black stuff on the way home.
