Start with full tank and it shouldn't be a problem it's just over 300km.
Normal places we stop at are Cheviot, Culverden and Amberley. Last year we had problems with one of the pumps at Cheviot and ended up using the one at Wiapara.

Nice work Shoshoni, I will do my best to tag along. If you are going through Ashley this time will meet you on the way. Can show you some shingle and a ford on route to Balcairn turnoff if you want. Or just meet you on the main road.

We have been through the one on Marshmans Rd a few times, I haven't done Stokes Rd yet are they the ford's you were thinking of?

Google Maps is giving me grief so if you want to see the GPX files use "save link as" on the image and give it the .zip extension then extract.

I live on Marshmans Rd so was thinking of that one.

Sorry but your last sentence may as well have been written in Japanese to me...lol...not too computer literate. Will have a crack though.

Yep, almost. I did a big trip up to Nelson and home via the west coast a while back (which was ferkin fabulous apart from getting a flat in the middle of the Buller Gorge and not having my tools with me) and I got some pretty good mileage. Got from Chch to Springs Junction on a tank with some to spare so hope I should be fine for the CCC. Just gotta remember to fill up at one of the petrol stations this time

Its not bad average 22.5 km' per litre on road. Bit less off road but i don't ride it hard. WR averaged 19.3 km's per litre on dusty butt. Very happy with that. But they are both injected that must help

Looks like the weather was ruined my plans of going away this weekend so will be getting out on the bike as much as possible between the heavy showers, so if there is anyone one else interested shout out and we can arrange something
