Since the previous owner powder coated the frame yellow most of the purple is gone, it's better than it was. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That doesn't sound good. Bolt rusted into the spacer (inner race) maybe? The alloy of the shock its not that tough so it won't be the threaded section of the bolt that is an issue. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

mmm, maybe I need to soak in in WD40 overnight or something. I literally snapped one of the hooks clean off a spanner trying to undo it and looking at the break it wasn't already fractured. I've tried a short bar on a socket, open ended spanner, through to a closed spanner and a mallet, It's not going anywhere. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit, just looked in the manual, 55nm/40lb-ft.
If you go anywhere near that, it'll strip the threads out of the alloy. It's only 5mm or so thick. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It's not a reverse thread or anything stupid like that? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Have you undone the rear linkage bolt first? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Don't need to.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just put it on a box, undo the bolt, remove it, do it back up in the bottom hole.
After greasing everything in sight of course.
Yeah, just wondering if the lingage/shock being still connected is somehow placing some more stress on the bolt and making it extremely tight to undo. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yep. I think it's a case of plain stuckedness this time. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Although putting it on the centre stand or a box would reduce any load on the bolt too.
Maybe a little studlock in there?
It's on the center stand so the rear wheel is off the ground. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
