Triumph wreckers?

There was this noise…..the most horrifying of noises, a noise so horrible that it will forever be etched in my memory. I knew something was so very wrong with my Trumpy…. and my heart…. it broke.

It was a silent drive home.

Some screws were un-screwed and covers un-cover their covered. And my world was shattered into small pieces like the shattered piston bits that lay on the garage floor

The con-rod went postal I believe.

Number 2 conrod snapped on the bigend, then proceeded to smash its way through various parts of the engine case. Meanwhile half a piston and the rest of the conrod took it upon themselves to destroy the head, valves, liners, and my wallet.

seriously that sucks.

Since this is one of the bikes I am considering for "next" (the other serious contender being the Street Triple), any ideas why it went bang? how old was it?

It wasnt too many fifth gear mile long xed up wheelies was it? cos that'll never be a problem for me...
