    Still am.
I've added one ... now up to 11 times off ...

The last one was at a roundabout - I glanced up and no cars were coming ... when I looked back at the road the car directly in front of me stopped .. I stood on the brakes, missed hitting the car, but the front wheel locked up, skipped and the bike went down. Minor damage to the bike (didn't even break a mirror) and a sore ankle and left hand (it was still wrapped around the bars when the bars hit the road .. bent the bars but didn't break any bones in my hand)

OK, down the slalom it's Griffith Street in Put a Ruru, some of you may know it, but I can assure you, not as intimately as me.
10 maybe 12 two biggish lads, he lived there, w'ed done this before.
Off we go from the top, got about half way, speed wobbles! uh huh.
3/4's and we're flying man, OK, take the right hand turn into front of Aunty Jeans from McKenzie's, place.
Nope, handle bars turned nothing else, at about that moment we're both shaking our heads , going, Oh, No, this is gunna hurt.
Then the thing literally collapsed, course we liked that about it normally, BUT not right at that moment.
He rode a two wheeled pygmy rocket across the road and through the trees into the High Schools grounds, straight through the 8 wire fence, unharmed. Had a lot to do with riding(if you could call it that by then) a bit like ol man Munroe on his Indian, spread from the front to the back, went through between the wires.
Me, well I got to see Aunty Jean, as they feed me, my front teeth and what was left of my hands, knees and face into the Ambo, hello Mr Jarrett.
    Doctor first, Doc Allen.
Then Dentist, that Barstard Sinclair, didn't even give me an anusthetic ( See what I did there?) got one of em back in, the other has been missing ever since.
Scars took awhile and to this day when I see one of those R20's I get this uncontrollable urge to run, the otherway!
You wouldn't have been the first to come unstuck on Griffith hill. I went down it on a mates 500 Daytona. The bar clamps were stripped out baring two bolts. Hard braking meant having the 'ape hangers in line with the elbows and the bar clamps. Anywhere else and the handlebars would fold forward. Seat just sat on the frame. Didn't crash (is it a crash if you dont come off?) but run over the footpath into the fence.

Jean Kay, yes I knew her well. Ted Jarrett racing down to the St Johns stn in his old Morris 12, later replaced with a mk1 cortina.

It's a fatalistic view, but look at it in context. Do anything for long enough and it's a case of 'when' not 'if'. Driving a car. Flying a plane. Screwing without a rubber. Heck - screwing with a rubber.

All we can do is try to deposit enough in the bank of experience, that when shit happens you can make a withdrawl.

Oh - and zero for me. A couple dodgy moments where I've got the rear end a bit jiggly in the rain (or once in the snow), under a bit of power... but nothing pants soiling.

Once on the road a year ago on some gravel.

Once on track one month ago on some oil. Picking that number will go up soon though with me cracking into some racing

    Ohhh fuck...here we go

    Ok FINE!!
I don't drive cars and have ridden bikes all my life, I ride daily, and I used to be COMPLETELY INSANE!.

    Hence Ive had:

    Three head ons.
Been hit by three drunk drivers
Once slid out & got stuck under a parked car!(They had to jack it up as the sump plug was through my helmet), flipped em, dropped em, slid them, highsided em, low sided em and even had one burst into flames between my legs (To name a few!)

    Personal damages so far:

    Broken lower back

    Crushed & rebuilt left ankle

    Chipped hip
Collapsed neck (Which left me paralyzed for nearly two days, ala berg...HI BERG!!)

    Numerous skull fractures

Two shattered knees (Require total rebuilds...but-ACC!)

Dislocated shoulder with a completely blown AC joint & Nerve damage down my left arm (Nearly had it amputated after a drunk hit me right OVER a roundabout...yes....it hurt!...alot!!)

Oh and Mild Brain damage from Fluid on the brain (Just my memory recall tho....I think?)

so there it is....yes, I have crashed ALOT!!! - dirt bikes, road bikes, race bikes, speedway you name it!, Ive probably crashed it.

So don't be like me and learn this shit the really, REALLY!! hard way (it hurts..alot!), ALWAYS wear the fucking gear, ride within your own limits, and don't push it on the road! (save it for the track)

    and remember...FIRE BAD! MmmmK

....FLAME ON BITCHES! ...FOR I HAVE CRASHED!! (ok...Alot!)

    We know!
But Willy, talk about how many times you WOULD have been involved in accidents but for your well developed sense of situational awareness and obvious desire not to be involved in other crashes.
    Please.

    Please.

    Tis very true!

...just a shame I had to learn the bloody hard way tho (winter just hurts!)

I just try to survive nowdays ...and with much heavier traffic flows on the roads, thats challenging enough for me thanks (Ya just can't do the shit we used to get away with 20+yrs ago...hell, we used to "cruise" at 100mph everywhere, straight line it down the centre line, and never stopped for cops (Unless ya knew them) - mind you, thats what growing up & riding with packs of old ulysses bmw riding "mentors" gets ya tho ...aging gracefully my arse!)

Survival...yeah, that keeps me occupied enough nowdays thanks (but I do still love a good scratch in the hills )
