Does any one else see the similarities between Pike River Coal Mine and this disaster in the way no one seems to be organised enough to prevent the disaster getting worse?
    Rick.

The same story, you can have all the in house training,i.e civil defence and so forth, but in the end it is still controlled training to attempt to control the situation, until the real thing happens there is no way to know how the recovery/action group will fare.I mean our armed forces do role play for war, until people are actually firing back it is still not a real scenario.

Here's a little bit of good news. The Coast Guard says that they are now catching up to 200,000 litres of oil a day. The bad news is that they're capturing it with penguins.

...all the grizzling about it getting on your hands and feet..put some gloves on, and while ya at it, add some gumboots. The Mount has always been a slick town to visit.

Things always get worse before they get better. This particular disaster won't be over for years.

ouch, my baby doesn't leak oil, it's more likely to be a Harley. if it was a Ducati they could have lifted it off the reef with a small barge. only a Harley can get that stuck.
