So you haven't ridden at night then? If you like exploring the back blocks as well, gas can suddenly get very few and far between, especially if a gas station runs out.

It was one of the passes over to Greymouth last year I think, Springs Junction? had no gas, 200km didn't cut it. Cape Reinga return to Awanui is 210km. East Cape, if you want 95 octane, you really want to run from Opotiki round to Gisborne... 360km ish... instead you have to go hunting in Hicks Bay (91 only), Te Araroa (who can be bastards at times) etc.
    .
I've been pondering this in the back of me 'ead for a few days.

Conclusion: Yep - I did those rides twice in 11 years in NZ.

    I did 150km day-rides weekly.

If you live in those places and do those rides regular-like - it's not the right bike.

But really, that's only a small % of 'us'.

A hyabusa wouldn't surprise it - you'd see it in the mirrors.

Maybe Honda was trying a different approach to multiple bike ownership?

The VFR1200 for the sporty rides and the ST1300 for days when you rack up big kays maybe? With that approach it may lead me to a K1600GT for a combination of both....
Some folks are only alive 'cause it's illegal to shoot them....
