But if they are not ridden to the max by some speed demon in leather, the engine shouldn't develop problems, right?
Or do you mean that because of the tuning at factory, the engines WILL develop problems anyway unless constantly tuned/calibrated what-have-you no matter the driving behaviour of the rider...?
They are old bikes now and will need work anyway. I would doubt they would like pootling around at low revs. Ive looked at a few FZRs and they all had carb issues of some type. Also they are small.
Did you a reply to your exemption? Are you riding at the moment? i see your selling that Hyobag, did you buy it?
Its the item thats attached to the carbs through the throttle cable that causes most of the problems on all 250cc / 4's. ie Usually these bikes are owned buy a string of 'younger' people all wanting to break into MotoGP (and thus constantly need to practise) with a back up optional career in beer swilling and shagging. In the strident pursuit of these careers, they never have any cash left for servicing and maintaining the bike. Thats probably fair since lots of them dont seem to plan on living long...
ALL 250cc /4s are now running way beyond their designed 'life' and all of them will require you to get your wallet out and your hands dirty. However, with a little care and attention you will learn lots and have more fun than a weeks free entrance to the happy slappy custard palace during the annual latex nympho dwarf hooker appreciation week.

Spokes - Yeah, selling off the Hyosung. Don't like it, too cramped for me thick legs. Sticking to my Scorpio for the moment and checking out other bikes... Hondas are top of my list now, maybe a Hornet or that nice VT250c cruiser.
No reply from NZTA about my exemption yet. Sent the the centrefold photos of me drapped on my Scorpio and the Hyosung to show the difference between me on a small bike and on a reasonably big bike and hope it's convincing. Maybe the garter belts were a bit too much but hey...Oh, plus a med cert stating my weight and height. That's all they wanted...

Thing is, I've looked at a Honda CB400 and was surprised to find it too small for me, until I was told it wasn't a Hornet.
I like the look of the FZX250, and its cruiser-like low seat height, upright seating position and twin pipes... Kinda like a cruiser-sports or a sporty cruiser.
I might just go for a Honda VT250 magna or the FZX250.
Unless you're a cripple riding position shouldn't dictate what bike you ride.![]()
