Car crushing in the ODT today (13 Dec)

    Well its a start.

    http://www.odt.co.nz/your-town/milto...-carz-burnouts

It's just a pity the car wasn't taken at the time of the last burnout, but then he was narked on after the fact.

"Currently, there are 86 people nationwide who have received two previous convictions for illegal street racing." The only thing I want to know, is there a place I can buy tickets to the crushing.

A 1982 Corolla DX with no motor? It'll cost more to crush it than the vehicle is worth, and the taxpayer will have to pay for it.
Why do some pistons go up and down when your wheels go round and round?

But if he was caught in the act they would have taken the car then and there. As it was one of his mates narked on him and he was able to strip it out, there is a very good reason why there is not secret court sittings, its the price of justice. They will get him next time.

And he will just buy another shell, put all the good bits he has clearly removed from his own "car" already on it, and keep on doing it.

"we just need a place to skid"

Piss off Noddy, there have been places set up all over the country for skids

Good riddance to a shitbox anyway.

no offence but you really must be one of the knee-jerk reaction brigade to believe that . Dunn had it right "Mr Dunn said the three-strike rule would do little to deter boy racers"
This boy racer rule is utter BS, just give them a concrete pad to kill themselves on & leave it at that best thing we could do

they had and released it to him.
Senior Constable Jim Jordan, of Milton, said the Toyota had been impounded for 28 days, but was released after the payment of a fee, but now a warrant would be issued by the courts for it to be seized
so what is the message? that we want punitive measures rather than corrective?

No i don't think it will make much diference but its a start and there is 88 other morons on their last warning.

So the courts did a dumb thing releasing it too soon, whats a DX toyota motor worth? $50 if you are lucky. Whats the labour cost to do a motor swap?

To me it's personal, after living in the outskirts of Christchurch for so long, I am delighted to see one of the toss pots cars being recycled.

Doing skids in cars was all part of growing up in my day. I don't understand all the hate on KB towards the boy racers TBH, but that's just me I s'pose.

Because boy racers get away with it and motorcyclist equivalents don't, well they get denounced a lot more by comparison!

That fuckwit's bigger problem was, of course, rampant gingervitis.

its fatal you know. He'll have it till the day he dies.

And almost two years before he legally drive it. I'm sure that he wouldn't ever consider driving with a suspended licence .

I can't wait for them to start crushing cool stuff like GSXR's and Harleys.

Crushing vehicles is just a waste of time and money. better off stripping and selling them.
Very clean and green NZ. Right up there with giving people home detention rather than getting them to clean something.
