    I don't own a car, if that's what you're hinting at.

    Red face

Hey SMOKE, read what i wrote, will ya. I'm not talking about the little hoon who does as you have said, and does a burnout down the end of a street, I'm talking about the groups of hoons in high powered cars who do actively go looking for trouble and who literally think nothing of beating people who have the nerves to try and do something about their dangerous behaviour. You have leapt to the defence of a little guy doing silly shit, not the idiots who don't care and who will kill you if you speak out, this is not scare mongering it happens all to often now. It's those hoons I'm against and I'm damn sure you would be too.

If you've actually been in the "crowd", like most "crowds" the wankers are the minority but like always tend to be the loudest.
Most these people just wanna place to "play". I used to "play" but we would take it to industrial areas, dead end streets with no-one around, no houses, no pedestrians, no traffic. It's when the PIGs decide to inforce their laws, that your taking a harmless bit of "fun" & forcing it into a problem.

If we just gave "boyracers" a place to play, be it ignoring them in industrial areas or a dedicated pad, 80%-90% of them would no longer be a "problem" the remainder are like in any group & will always be a problem no matter what you do. They're the ones that need sorting.
Sorry scuba, but your need to reference the Police as 'PIGS' all the time doesnt do your arguement any favours. I have lived in an area (invercargill) where the local stock car club DID make a concrete pad at their track for the boy racers to use for burnouts etc......
They much prefered to put oil on the road at roundabouts etc, it was a waste of money and effort. So sadly the 'minority' was the majority as the lot of them carried on hooning on the public roads.

Not all the time, I reference P.I.G.s (police inforcement 'guys') as PIGs & cops as cops, the appropriate names are used in the appropriate places (most times, I do occasionally confuse them).

Question about the pad tho. Was it's use heavily restricted with what could be done or vehicle requirements i.e. WOF/reg etc? & did it cost?

It's when the PIGs decide to inforce their laws, that your taking a harmless bit of "fun" & forcing it into a problem.
And therein lies the problem. A complete and utter lack of respect for the LAW and those that have to ENFORCE it. You do fucken realise that the 'pigs' as you so eloquently put it, have no fucken choice but to ENFORCE the law. Thats what we pay them to do on our behalf. They dont get to 'pick and choose' what they will and wont enforce on a particular day. And what thanks do they get for doing their job? Wankers completely disrespecting them, their uniform, and the people they represent. US.

As long as adults continue to disrespect, and disregard the law, the kids will too, it's a learned behaviour. If you really want to address the problem, start where it begins; AT HOME. Put a fence at the top of the cliff instead of an ambulance at the bottom. If kids see the parents showing respect they'll learn it too. Much more effective than crushing cars and causing further resentment. But, as there's not too much hope of some of the parents growing a brain, there's very little hope of kids learning respect at home, so the POLICE and the COURTS are left to deal with the aftermath, and be maligned for doing their jobs.

Before you criticise anyone, walk a mile in his shoes first.

If someone is in a car with one foot on the brakes and the other foot on the throttle spinning the tyres, then it's hardly a serious offence. Who's going to get hurt or killed by a little skid?
Are you fucken serious??? 3 or 4 donuts at full noise in a crowd of a couple hundred people is hardly a little skid. It's fucken madness, is what it is. People have been, and will continue to be hurt by this shit. I watched two teenage girls get mowed down by one of these 'harmless' fucken morons one night. Fortunately there was nothing more than bruises and scrapes, but it could have been much, much worse.

Entire residential streets have been blocked off by hundreds of these clowns, while they do thier 'harmless little skids' and the residents, at 2am, are too fucken scared to come out of thier homes, lest they be set on by drunken teenage mobs. You can laugh if you like, but it does happen, and more often than you think. Ive seen it many times.

The difference is, that back in the days when I had V8's, and did the occasional skid, I had respect for other people, and thier property, so didnt deliberatly seek out place where i could cause maximum public nusiance, and I never, never, abused someone else's property and laughed, or taunted them about it.

The serious offense, that you speak of, is a lack of respect for the law, but sadly you seem to be another one that thinks that's okay as long as no one gets hurt. Define your definition of getting hurt. For the residents of a suburban street at 2am, the hurt is emotional, not alway physical.
