ICE mobile phone (In Case of Emergency)

I think this is a good idea everywhere! Not just the UK.

This was forwarded to me: I think it's a really good idea, especially given Thursdays events

East Anglian Ambulance Service have launched a national "In case of
Emergency (ICE)" campaign with the support of Falklands war hero Simon
Weston and in association with Vodafone's annual life savers award.

The idea is that you store the word "ICE" in your mobile phone address book and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency". In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.

It's so simple - everyone can do it. Please do. Please will you also forward this to everybody in your address book, it won't take too many forwards' before everybody will know about this.

I.C.E. - In Case of Emergency

Put I.C.E. in your phone memory and the number of someone you wish to be contacted in an emergency. You never know when the unthinkable may happen, and God forbid it ever does, but if you ever have an accident your cell phone may provide your loved ones with the comfort or information they may not even know they need. This may be common knowledge but it's the first time I've heard it (from another thread) - and I thought it would be good to share to a wider audience.

Great post colapop, had a friend of mine tell me that a while back too... mines an 0800 number that can be called free that goes to either of my parents cell phones.

The emergency services know to look through your cell phone to look for I.C.E so it would not be necessary.

True.... I recall checking a chaps phone after a crash when I was in that line of work. His phone had a fully naked photo of himself as a wallpaper. Not the sort of thing I wanted to see!
