Deus. It's Latin for god. Deus ex machina means god from the machine. Dues are something else entirely.

But it's also a shop that doesn't reply to emails or phone enquiries about parts which they are the sole NZ agent for.
Doubt I will persue any further possible purchaces via them.

Same experience for me, same course of action. Bought my parts from a company in the USA instead. Cheaper and they answered their e-mails...

I was in and out of Shed 5 all the time while I was couriering. Didn't look like anyone was at all serious about selling motorcycles or parts. It's mostly a T-shirt and coffee shop with a bunch of bikes on display on pedestals scattered around. Most of what went on seemed to be more related to the owner's plan on turning the site into an apartment building. I was always running to and fro between Shed 5 and various solicitors and real estate outfits.

The Deus Ex thing is more of a hobby for the chap who owns it, I think. He just likes bikes and wanted to put a few on display. There are no motorcycle-shop type staff in there. Just coffee girls and T-shirt salesmen.

If you actually want to buy and ride a Deus Ex machine you're probably better to deal directly with the builders in Oz.

Maybe this shop opening up in Newmarket will take a more focused approach to the business of actually selling and servicing motorcycles. Who knows. If there was a proper Deus Ex shop in town I bet they'd sell very well.

I asked about a seat once. Got blank looks. Never saw anybody in the workshop either, thought it was just a display.

I'd be surprised. NZ's way too small for that to happen.

From what they were charging, a couple of bikes a year would be more than I am earning.

Yeah I might've too. If I was a sick cunt with too much money. As it is, I'm only one of those things.
