    Bridgestone BT-015 OEM Tyres

Just clicked over 4000 kms on these from new and does'nt look likely the rear one's gonna manage the 800km trip I got coming up in a week or so. A reasonably good tyre, performance -wise, though it has slipped out in the dry a couple of times but .... the mileage is shocking .

Why do manufacturers put such oddball tyres on a Bike from new ? , you can't even buy a replacement set , even if you did like them.

Now I've got to 0rganise a new tyre in the trickiest week of the year, gonna run with a Metzeler Road-tech Z8 ...if I can find one .

Anyone had experience with these tyres ? Must say the front one has behaved with aplomb so , I'll leave that one on ....

I did not get much life out of the 016s on the monster but they sure improved the handling and gave me great confidence

Done 500k's on a new Z8 rear 190/55 on the ZX12 this week and it's performing very well so far. Still have the M5 front & will likely run this combo for a few sets now.

I like it when it's let go on my face and drips down onto my tits.

Got a Z8 being fitted this week so all good. Done a bit more research on the BT-015 seems it was a tyre developed specifically for the 'Busa and had a shallower tread depth than the retail '015's you can buy off the shelf in other countries . Had a good ride back from Akaroa this morning two-up and hungover and it was awesome booting it up the hill with the 015's nicely warmed up - stuck like glue on the fast corners , chicken strips all gone now and just clicked ovewr 4500kms .

I take back my initial complaint , seems mileage is the price you pay for performance but a sports tyre is not going to suit me as I need something to cover all bases. If I can get 8k out of the Z8 on the rear, I'm a happy man

get yourself a BT023 for the thing - tests on a Busa in Canty area showed well in excess of 9K's from a rear ..... even if you dont get THAT, you're still laughing, as they stick well enough, good in the wet too
