The price of cheekpads

A while ago I thought I might need to replace the cheekpads in the Arai helmet. Priced them at $127.00 per pair. Which seemed like quite a lot at the time so I procrastinated as usual and didn't get around to it.

After a two day ride at New Year, I realised that the pads really were loose so decided to do the deed anyway. Cost this time? $85.00 per pair. Saved $47.00 by procrastinating. First time that's ever happened.

Maybe I oughta procrastinate more - if I can be arsed getting round to it...

I bought a brand new, still in packaging, pair of Arai cheek pads, for $50.00. Off trade me.

Shows the benefits of procrastinating and shopping around... I thought $130.00 was excessive too....

I have found that it almost ALWAYS pays to shop around or ring around and get prices. Saving $40 just bt crossing the road is worthwhile.

I am also cheeky enough to haggle on big ticket items, I recently asked if there was a "cash discount...I know, I know, grey economy or whatever they call it, tax probably wasn;t paid and so on

) but I got $405 off a $3050 bill. Oddly enough the discount was the same as the GST amount!!!

It certainly made it worthwhile asking the question and going 5 minutes up the road to the bank.
