    GB400 wants to die when stopped/idle

    Title pretty much explains it. Not sure where to start looking. I rely on the bike for transportation so it's not incredibly convenient to just tear it apart right now. So I'm wondering if any of the experts on here might have some suggestions of where I should start looking. Maybe something minor?

    To describe in detail what its doing, as soon as I come to a stop and idle, the motor starts to slow down and die unless I continue revving it.

    if it was running ok before, spray a mist of water around to see if it changes idle speed. if it does then air leak. Also check the choke is not staying on. My guess is blocked idle jet. Mine does that from time to time.

    Roughly how many k's has it done?

    I had a similar problem and all it came down to was a broken battery terminal (when I stopped my weight was not on the seat hard enough to hold the connection).
    But I suspect yours is most likely due to idle leak (explained below) or even a faulty CDI or dying battery/alternator combo.

    Most of them do that, something to do with the ignition pickup allegedly. Whack the idle speed up (the black plastic knob on the side of your carburettor) and don't worry about it.

    ooh my kx250f has a star shaped kinda knob on the side of the carby, is that the idle? because when i start it up it doesn't like idiling even with choke on untill its warm.

    Huh?
    All my ones only did it when there was a problem.
    What have you set the idle to durp? I think the manual states it should be around 1200+ rpm

    Thinking about it mine wont idle below 1200 at all. I just set it at that and left it. Probably due to them have an ignition stator like the XRs.

    I set the idle between 1200-1500. I got it figured out though. Found a loose wire that was grounding out. Every things good now.

    And no, not all GB's do that

    Maybe its depressed and exercise is the only way it feels better about itself?
