Extremely useful for busy town riding.. or if you're away with a group of riding mates, so you can easily keep an 'eye' on everyone..

These are x-demo helmets. They have only been tried on a couple of times, & have never been taken for a test ride on a bike! Only stood looking down the street at my place!)

How about a quick review (pun? what pun?)?

How do you find the mirror? Any blinding at night from vehicles behind with their headlights? Or sunstrike? How's the wind noise? Comfort for head shapes? Sizing in relation to other brands?

Sure. I have been using my helmet for over a year now & I love it!!

    These are my personal findings.

The mirror is awesome!! Yes, it takes a little getting used to (the first ride is very weird.. & very cool!) but I got used to it quickly. The mirror is adjustable & needs to be set in the right place before you go on the road.. ie: adjusted to suit your bikes riding position & angle of your head, then once set, leave the mirror where it is. You do this by sitting on your bike in your usual riding position, then use the key that comes with the helmet to wind the mirror up or down to suit. What height the mirror is set on for a cruiser for example.. won't be the same as the height set for a sports bike.

Once the mirror is set in the right place, all you need to do is glance your eyes upwards to look in the mirror, just the same as you do in a car. I find it very unobtrusive. I only use it.. when I want to. I don't find it distracts me at all.

I have found it extremely useful when: riding in town, merging lanes, doing u-turns, and taking off from a parking space. .

The mirror system is manufactured from a reflective polycarbonate material.. not glass! I find it very clear. No it's not 100%.. but is very good!!

I have only encountered sunstrike once, & all I needed to do was turn my head a by just a few mil to the side, to take away the suns directness. I'm not a big nightrider.. but the same principal also applies for car lights . 7 years research has gone into these helmets, so that has all been thought of in the making. The helmet has a series of reflective surfaces that limit the intensity of light hitting the front reflective surface. This limits the intensity of reflected light significantly. A slight turn of the head can ensure the reflective light path is stopped.

check out the FAQ page: http://www.reevu.com/faq.asp

I find the wind noise far less than my old helmet, a KBC (which cost about $250'ish from memory ) I also mostly always wear earplugs as well, & have done for several years as I find they "tune me in to my bike" much better & help me concentrate & stay focused when going long distances. I have never tried out a $1000 Shoei (or similar) to see what their wind noise is like in order to "compare"with a fancy helmet though.

I find my helmet extremely comfortable to wear. The lining is very good quality, completely removeable - should it require washing (I'm not a makeup wearer or a sweater ) & generally feels very nice on!

My old KBC helmet is a medium, & I wear a small REEVU. Have just tried both on & they feel about the same.

It has a ratchett system, which takes a little adjusting to get it to fit securely the first time. I would have preferred a D-ring though.

I find it a very sexy & stylish helmet & love how it looks with my bike

Yes it weighs 1600 gms.. but as a motorcycle riding instructor & defensive riding/driving course provider.. safety & awareness of what is going on around me.. is far more important.

Overall, my personal observations.. I would rate it a 8.5 out of 10

Why do you feel such a need to see what's going on behind you at every possible moment?

Don't the mirrors already fitted to your bike work?

The vast majority of bikes out there have "vibrating shoulder imaging devices". Oddly, HD are one of the few manufacturers to get mirrors right. I say "oddly" because in a number of countries, the mirrors seem to be the second thing removed from a HD, following on from screwing up exhaust flow horribly.

So your point of reference may be skewed.

The RVF's mirrors are quite good for a Sprotsbike. The Zed's used to flap up and down as well as a fine tremor at legal cruising speeds. They were good for letting you know that there may be up to 39 vehicles following you.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

The mirrors are stamped with Vehicles are smaller in number than they appear.

Yes, the mirrors on my bike are very good.. but as with all bikes (& cars) there are blindspots.. which we all know are extremely dangerous!! this helmet eliminates blind spots!! I can see from fog line to fog line on both sides of the road clearly with the added helmet mirror!

And as I said.. I only use it.. when I want to.
