Getting close now! And the fundraising has reached a totally unexpected and incredible $170,000+ Things are really ramping up now.
The Safari will be departing Air New Zealand No.1 Hangar on Orchard Rd., Harewood at 0800 this Saturday. From there the group will head out onto McLeans Island Road and to Kirwee for the first planned stop. Find a spot along the route and cheer the group on! Here's one immaculately prepared example of the array of machines that you will see:

Another Safari done and dusted with over $225,000 raised to boot! What an incredible achievement by everybody.
The weather played a crucial role this year but most handled it very well. There was a small "rogue" element that decided to join the ride and who were not welcome. The unexpected extra numbers of scooters taking part created a few extra issues for the event crews to deal with. Tighter controls on the numbers participating will be put in place for future Safaris. But overall things ran smoothly.
For those who decided to ride back over the mountains on Sunday there was more of the same weather only worse. Just as well it was a tailwind!
Top marks to everybody for an incredible event. Keep an eye on the Safari pages for photos and comments, etc.
