For accommodation in Hanmer, consider renting a holiday house:
    http://www.hanmerholidayhomes.co.nz/

They are better value than cabins or tent sites, for as few as 4 ppl.
    Cheers,
    Colin

Thanks. Shall keep it in mind. Got to be at the ferry at 7am. So would be an early start. Whats the ride time from your place to the ferry.

Would quite like to ride down through the Wairarapa.

Slight change of plan here, again at this stage.

Will (may) have to meet up with you guys at Murch on Sunday morning (what time will you be leaving?). Will stay at Nurses home or somewhere, but will leave it to the last minute as plans could change entirely.

May even make it a day ride yet, depending on plumbers and diggers schedules. Is reliable running water that important anyway?

    Fingers crossed.

Hadn't really decided on leaving times, 9-9:30 I guess. Everyone will get an hours more? sleep that night as Daylight savings changes.

How long total will it take to get up the Rainbow including doing Mallings and Edwards? I'm interested in if we leave Hanmer roughly 9:30 when we will likely be in St Arnaud for those who want to meet up.

All good, Remember to take your meds

From the North Island we have myself, Dual, Big Col & Big Col's mate, plus John C who's not a KB'er doing the whole trip, She Wolf is joining us for Friday and Rainbow on Saturday morning before she heads through to Nelson for Saturday night, and possibly a guy from Chch for the whole trip but I'm not sure on him.
