Shouldn't be too bad in Alexandra for the overnight stop at least. A moment to dry out.

It might be a Muddy Butt.

After starting this thread originally I'm unable to make it this year due to a number of reasons, but I will be in Cromwell at the Bannockburn bike week from next weekend on. I had hoped originally to do both.

Thanks for the offer, I've got a trailer, just trying to hitch it to someone's wagon.
I'll take it up myself if needed, now if I can just convince the Missus to take the trailer home I could squeeze in another ride on my other bike back in time for my Saturday ride......

Heavy rain is again expected to hit the South Island.
Moving in late tomorrow and for much of the weekend, torrential rain is predicted for the West Coast of the South Island, the Southern Alps, Fiordland and Lakes and rivers in Otago and Canterbury.
Strong winds should also be expected to last throughout the weekend in Southland, Clutha and Dunedin.

I hope not for the Dusty Butt, surely not...
Yes thats fine, it is North West, dry on our side with maybe the old spill over shower but should be all good, maybe some rain Saturday night, Sunday looking OK

Look on the bright side, at least there won't be any dust, now if only I could fit the unmbrella to the handle bars!

The Southern Rider Rally is on in Alexandra on the saturday night with around two dozen riders registered. If any of you feel like calling in for beer you would be most welcome. Its off Springvale Rd. Shrek can show you the way (as long as he doesn't fall off in any puddles first).
    Time to ride

Might well need them. Check out pictures from Mt Hutt tonight (stolen from ADV rider post)

More signficantly the Orari appears to be running about twice as high as normal. Check out Ecan's river flow data
