A man (for want of a better term) with little taste.

Although I do think four cans might have been a fair price.

If worth is what people will pay to purchace then 7 to 8k perhaps.
Worth can be higher when you dont need to sell something.

problem is at 12 even though that sounds ok new is 15-16 on a sporty with payment options.
ok new sporty doesnt have the extras but its still attractive to own a fresh one.

take it to a dealer to get trade in value then add 1500-2k to the price they offer could help.
Most dealers want(need)to make 2k + to see a return on the money they give as trade.Maybe even more if the bike they are selling isnt dealership owned.

yeah, the problem is defining 'worth' - many on trademe have a car with a greater personal value than market value.
$1 reserve doesnt always decide market value - it decides the value that people with cash on hand at short notice are prepared to pay.
I would (being a sneaky cunt) go down to a harley dealer, and tell them you are looking to buy a bike, explain YOUR bike in detail, and ask what they would sell something like that for on the shop floor of they could source it.
Then knock a bit off the price. - since you cant offer a warranty, you wont get what a dealer would.

Of course you might find someone nearby who has always wanted one and is prepared to pay the coin.

another option, if its tidy, is to ask your local dealer to do a sell on behalf - that way they can probably help a potential buyer out wth finance - which probably opens up your potential buyer pool considering not many people have thousands and thousands in cash sitting around.

    I'm Keen

Hey, I just joined to say I'm interested after a mate showed me the page. I can't send you a pm because I just joined, but if you message me I'll reply and send you my contact details. Would like to come take a look - I'm waiting on insurance at the moment, my bike was stolen last month.
