    I'm looking for the impossible

hey peeps, a mate of mine is on the hunt for a rear (rare ) wheel for a 1955 Matchless 500cc G9. We took our bikes out on Sunday and his speedo part unwound itself hard up onto the locking nut and stripped the thread off.
    Are there any out there?

...not impossible in the least...you may have to dig deeper than in the thin skin of KB though...

Firstly, I'd be surprised if the stripped part is actually a part of the hub, more likely in my experience to be a separate piece.
Secondly, even if it is, I'm sure the thread area can be built up and remachined.

there are a lot of very clever engineers around ChCH who I'm sure can sort this one out.

I suggested to him someone should be able to tap n dye the thread but he's still after a rear wheel, will see if I can get some photos to load
