just put a nsr gullarm on the 400 , think it looks better and saves a rs 125 swingarm for another project

Magic. That actually looks like it's made for the job.
Now you can do some real funk exhaust system.

Did you happen to weigh them both??

When Honda changed the RVF to a single sider, they picked up an easy 4 HP by being able to use round tubing in the headers. Hence the RC30 was always a single sider.
Having once done a 4:2:1 pipe for a VF400F frankly I don't see this being a lot easier unless there's more room between the front of the arm and the motor than I think...the footrests are right where you'd want to put the junction of the rear headers.

every time i start it which is on the hard side it has white smoke coming out the back cylinder , think it may have a water leak , so going to remove both heads and copper ring them , apart from that it would be 2 days work to finsh it

Why would a different swingarm have anything to do with the headers being made of round tube or something else?

There isn't much room in behind a V4, the single sider evidently made things roomier.

More room - with the "conventional" arm they had to use ovaled tube to clear things. Have a look at a pic of an RC30 to see what i mean. The rear headers actually run beside the linkage in the space the RHS arm would occupy.
