Mount the toilet in the opposite way you are supposed to. The back drops away and the sides and base don't curl to a shallow narrow point and give you that OO chilly willy on the pan feeling. Also you can rest your head against and/or steady yourself against the cistern without worrying that you're going to find that gap between pan and seat. Note: Not advisable if you're feeling sharty.
