Hi, just wondering if anyone has done their 6r in Pukekohe lately and could shed some light on where they went and what they did?
Looking forward to (hopefully) getting rid of the L-plate!!

Hmm, not much response there...... But I can reply to myself cos I just did it today!!
All the tests start at VTNZ in subway Rd (even though you can book it at the AA - much shorter queues there). Pretty much ended up riding round an area bounded by Manukau Rd, Wellington St, Kitchener Rd and Russell ave. Lots and lots of u-turns around roundabouts. Only 2 u-turns in a cul-de-sac, and they both had heaps of room to get round, although one was on a bit of a slope.
Pretty much went down how everyone says in the other threads - speed limit, check mirrors etc. At some give ways I never came to a complete stop (but was going pretty slow!) and at some stop signs I only had 1 foot down, with no comment on either. Once or twice I was bit conservative on traffic gaps, but he never mentioned that either. The open road section was only a short piece in a 70 zone (East St to the new roundabout) but we were in heavy traffic so never got very fast... No hazard recog questions. All up just under 40 mins, tester was a nice chap who followed in a car with a radio - bit hard to hear sometimes.
So now I can browse trademe knowing that the next bike is a step closer........ And the first thing I did was get rid of that L-plate!!!
Congrats!![]()

Your beliefs don't make you a better person, your behaviour does.
Congrats mate, can't wait to get rid of mine. So you booked at the VTNZ? Or AA Manukau or something?
Thanks guys. And thanks to everyone who posted their tests on kb - it was a big help to know what might go down!
Na I booked it at the AA in King St Pukekohe. Didnt realise that all the practical tests (in Puke anyway) go from VTNZ, but the AA can still book them. Noticed when I was waiting for the test at VTNZ that the lines were verrrry long cos they were dealing with all the other junk - WOFs and regos and stuff - whereas the AA was nice and quiet.
Interestingly, the nice lady in the AA told me that there is high demand for practical tests (and over half the people sitting the new car restricted fail first time up!) but Pukekohe had the shortest wait time for a test of all the south auckland places. I went in on the 2nd to book for the 9th, but closest I could get was the 23rd!!!
