    Heavy-duty folding ramps?

Torpedo 7 used to have these ramps for sale: http://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/T7RMUN0CC

Good length and width, folding, doubled as a tray extension and best of all, an unusually high load rating (450kg).

Does anyone know if these are available somewhere, or something similar? This seems to be best of the rest: http://www.cycletreads.co.nz/product...ding_ramp.aspx

To have good angles etc you want something more like 2m, then it becomes a bitch to carry, so folding makes that easier... Wood doesn't fold.

Thanks Chooky. Timely reminder as I'd seen a flash on TV and thought I should investigate.

Repco actually have two, the tri-fold you show (weight limit of 270kg) for $139 and this one:

Probably bi-fold, $119, arched (better for low clearance, like motorcycle belly pans) and weight limit of 340kg per ramp. Also extra long at 2.3m. One will be bought tomorrow!

word of advice. Do not buy fold up ramps that have a hump in the middle becauase its actually harder to push a bike up onto a ute, than it is with a straight plank. Dropped one bike already.

Advice I've read if loading a bike single handedly, start the bike and ease it up the ramp in first, rather than pushing. Still, when I practise the first time, I don't think I'll be filming it

Thanks bud, but bought the Repco one in my post above... rated to 340kg, for $119. Can't go wrong me thinks, and includes a securing strap.

the orignal ones are sold by xtreme wholesale, and are very good, but not cheap, they are $549, Torpedo seemed to get one shipment in, do them real cheap and I have never seen them again

    http://www.xtremewholesale.co.nz/

most bikes shops deal with these guys and i think they do direct sales as well,

I use the Ready Ramp that Xtreme do, they are very good,

Plank of 6 x 2 (bit less weight) and a small piece of curved steel at the end for the deluxe model.
