    Aprillia RSV Streetfighter - Project

    2000 Aprilia RSV - Streetfighter

Lowsided at the track so rebuilt as a streetfighter, not really a Tuono as I've used Buell XB12 Style front, and MX Bars with a custom top triple clamp. Did a quick job to get it back on the road, with plans to do a full streetfighter build later on.

Purchased all the Tuono racing carbon bits brand new, as well as a carbon exhaust (needs mid pipe made up). Haven't got round to fitting yet.

Kept all the bits I pulled off from the lowside, Front fairing and headlight worst.

Has new battery, newish tires (1k max), newish chain and sprockets (2k max), bew brake pads, new starter solenoid and starter clutch, shorty levers, Lowrise MX Fat bars and triple clamp to suit from the UK, Buell XB12 Headlight and shroud, and mounting brackets. New Wof and Reg, K+N Airfilter, HEL Stealth braided brake lines (black tinted).

Has developed an oil leak from the stator cover gasket , last ride has gotten worse (slippery tire worse) , and when I filled it up on the way back from this last ride the petrol tank overflow pipes (which run through the middle of the tank) have started leaking quite badly , so need to be replaced. It's also due for steering head bearings from muppet wheelie attempts. Was lent a new Z1 for a week recently so have decided to give up on projects and just buy a new bike.

Overall it's a hoot to ride , easy to wheelie if you're that way inclined and surprisingly comfortable (North Shore - coro loop and only stopping for gas and can still walk afterwards). On top of the repairs to get it back on the road safely, I had the following in mind to finish it off - fit carbon parts, replace rear seat cowl with modern unit, shorten loom behind headlight (not a biggie, but a bit messy), polish wheel rims. Powder coat frame and swingarm. The elctrical situation is sorted (the biggest issue on these bikes) , so it's really just the leaks to fix, and then modify the bike as you see fit.

Not really sure what it's worth so if anyone feels like making a fairly educated guess feel free (even if you're not looking to buy).

Bump - 4500. Fixed the oil leak with a new gasket and the tank with new fuel line. just got a new WOF (rear tire is borderline).

Need a new bike for the missus so this and/or my GSX needs to go.

Hey there - any inclination to sell the 'racing' parts that you haven't fitted to the bike yet?
