Hydro brakes, surly rear cog, absolute black oval chain ring...
Only new bit I had to buy was a 180mm brake disc as it had a 185 with 180mm mounts.

My test run through my rock garden feels smoother than the 26" hard tail with suspension forks.
Wagon wheels really do work. Wonder if they'll catch on?

Candie's. Got Egg Beater's as well, but use them for racing where you don't need the platform so much.
Got some Mallet's for proper back country riding where you might be unclipped for a while.
Got some XTR SPD's on the way to play with as I like the idea of the stronger axle, especially for single speeding, but my knees really like Crank Brothers level of float.

Wow thats very cheap. Nice bikes.

My new ride. Not super high spec but good enough for me as Im getting motivated to get fit and out on the trails.

I have a dream of touring the country on a Goldwing with a bike rack. Hit all the spots ive wanted to see.

I had just built it at work in my lunch time so seat angle was way off. Saddle is not bad. Im in the less is more camp for saddles.

I was thinking this. Already has a towbar so a normal bike rack will work.

Nice, wonder if I can get a dropper like that in 27.2?
Stuck some cheap Innova write bead tyres on, just cause they've got a nice low tread profile compared to the Maxxis Igniters that were on it (possibly from new). Trued up the wheels while I was at it. Only about a mm out at worst so not much to do.
Had to space the bottom front caliper mount out a mm to clear the disc.

Another short test ride and it certainly feels... I don't know, lazier, than the 26" rigid. Suits me well

Gravity dropper would be your only option I think. Not sure but I dont think they do much in a 27.2.

Paid $500 for my unit. New from BikeBarn outlet store .Gone now, the outlet store that is.
Funny thing it had odd length cranks 170 and 175 and they said don't worry about it.
After some abuse from me, all verbal, they agreed to swap a 175 from another bike.
All of the units in there had miss matched cranks and they had to order one in for me.

Still have it in my steel is real section of the garage next to my trek 520.

Cant go past the Shimano SPD's, scored some lightweight ones on special before the Slash arrived, they've taken some beauty rock strikes and holding up just as good as the heavier ones.
Like the look of those eggbeaters but know they wont take the hits they'll get for too long....
