I've never been a fan of the top knot and pipe wrap brigade, but for the money that's kinda cool.

They haven't really changed it that much visually either; fork gaiters, shorter front mudguard, bit of a cowling on the headlight, new seat and moved the rear light, lick o' paint, drill a few holes in the chain guard and voila. Seat should have been styled that way from the factory.

Forks should have been 1/2 a foot shorter, bars 1\2 a foot lower, there's a multitude of thing the gn should have had different from std .

Well yeah, but who new that just by changing the seat (effectively) it could look better enough that the guy who sold it to this guy could get him to pay WAY more.

    That's a bummer.

There was a monster which rode around my old work with a termignoni exhaust on it which sounded amazing.

Its likely to go very well anyway. the idea would be own it until full licence then sell it and buy bigger bike. At that price its likely to not lose many dollars if looked after. Idd say its 2k under priced already. I think they were 17k new.

"The air-cooled, fuel-injected engine is essentially identical to the larger 696 Monster, mated to a six-speed transmission and producing 38kW at 8250rpm and 46Nm at 7500rpm – a 30 per cent reduction. The major point of difference between the two machines is a physical stopper on the 659's fuel injector body that restricts the throttle action by a few millimetres. The stopper can be removed, however Ducati says it is illegal to do so"

    700cc and 52 horse power.

There is no point in making a bike with those numbers.

    And, it's a fucken Ducati.

Why wouldn't you just buy a cbr250rr for a couple grand. Fix it up a bit and then save the rest for the new bike. The 250 fours sell pretty easily.

But you would get the big bike feel which helps if you eat too many pies.

Couldn't you remove the restriction and then just ride it on your learners. I'd imagine that the restricted fuel body would easily go unnoticed if it were to wander off the bike. I doubt insurance or the wof people would be any wiser about it.

Other than the 659 is lams and at 170kg that's likely max power to weight ratio but likely has more torque and power through the entire rev range plus its on good suspension with gear normally available on larger bikes.

Never owned a Ducati but they cant be all bad.

I don't even know how long it takes get full licence but idd rather own the monster for 12-18months than a 20 year old 250 inline 4 that could blow at any stage and be worth nothing if it does.
