Fuck the Reevu, new best helmet ever

So maybe I'm a bit of a tech geek, but this looks to me like the turning point where I finally buy an electric motorcycle gadget - functionality and design seem spot on to me.

GPS nonsense aside, ignore it when you want, use the 'rear view mirror' while on the motorway, and play music how you want - I'm sold.

(And a story I stumbled across this morning... safety police say, always wear your helmet)

So you could watch porn while riding?

    Looks distracting to me.

Definitely has the potential to be distracting, but I think if you just leave it on the rear view camera it would be perfectly fine. I'm not a fan of the GPS side of things but you could pick and choose what to keep - as I said, I'd buy it just for the rear view and the music.

Riding a bike, listening to music, taking phone calls, being told the weather (that does seem stupid though, pretty obviously the sun is out eh...), getting GPS directions, using a GPS map, camera viewing behind you.....you're obviously over estimating the ability of the average KB rider going by the GPS voice direction only thread

I think it's awesome =D Might be more suited to the city though (wind noise? etc =()

    Where do I get one?

Can I get it to talk to my mobile hf-uhf-vhf radio?

Do they come in a style for real bikers not honda riders?

Very cool. I'd be keen for a proper HUD, RPM and speed etc. The speed at least should be doable via GPS pretty easily. Video capture feature would be nice too.

Honda riders are the real Bikers based on numbers. The rest of us are just fringe elements, 'WannabeHonda riders' if you might.

Can it display real time AFR readings wirelessly? Datalog? Engine temp? Air Temp? Oil/Fuel Presure?

Sounds like a load of shit if you ask me. Just another way to end up under a truck and in a closed casket

I agree. the whole idea when riding is to be 100% focussed. Not sure you will be with this contraption on!

Beginning of the end, rise of the machines and all that stuff. Sounds like cool gadgetry but it wont be long before technology like that is OEM on all helmets whether you want it or not.
Like the dataloggers in trucks it will be like riding with a cop as pillion as all that data and vid will end up being accessible to authorities.
Isn't operating a cellular device 100% illegal on motorbike under the new laws even with handsfree or Bluetooth etc...?
I can see a time coming when old classics and those with old style ignition coils will be popular bikes as the electrical noise will block the GPS from recording any ahem inadvertent overspeeds...

Would wait until it's actually released to see what it's like. But I would say it takes away from the point of riding a bike in the first place, at least for me.
