    Oil recycling in Hamilton?

    Hello fellow bikers

I'm having trouble finding a place that will take my old oil. I'm in Hamilton. I've called the local landfill and supercheap auto as they had an oil recycling bin in Cambridge.
Where do you guys take your old oil?

Take it with a box of beer to your local garage. You will get rid of the oil and they will appreciate the beer. (ask first which brand they prefer to ensure mutual happiness)

Branches of Repco and SuperCheap should have oil recycling, just put it in sealed containers.

Do they normally only prefer to take a certain brand of oil?

I cross the back yard and tip mine over the fence onto the waste ground between the fence and the neighbours old shed.

You can dump it (tip it into a tank) at most refuse stations for free dude.

Yeah well I'm pretty sure I called them and the lady told me they don't take oil. (checked my call history, yup same number) wow

I eventually took the oil down to a work friend's garage.

Same deal here. No one knew about it but the website and the people that physically worked there. It's the same as Chch though where the only pinch is you have to keep the container (which I think some of the oil retailers mentioned earlier will actaully take).
Particular pain if you're buying 10L and above containers.
